Somewhere off the coast of Curaçao, an offshore drilling vessel lies idle, not due to bad weather or technical issues, but for scheduled maintenance. The ship is waiting. And what it needs is ready 8,000 kilometers away in the port of Rotterdam: eight brand-new thrusters, each weighing 58 tons.
This is not a shipment that can wait. This is a race against the clock.
ECL (Europe Caribbean Line) was tasked with transporting this time-critical cargo to Curaçao as quickly as possible. Eight thrusters, totaling 464 metric tons of propulsion technology, essential to getting the drilling vessel back in operation.

The challenge: When everyday counts
In offshore operations, downtime costs money. Lots of money. A drilling vessel that cannot sail is a drilling vessel that cannot produce. The pressure to deliver quickly and flawlessly was enormous.
Loading eight units of 58 tons each required not only lifting capacity but also precise planning. Each thruster had to be safely on board, correctly positioned for stability during the crossing, and ready for rapid offloading upon arrival.
